San Diego Trip

This past week Darrin had the entire week off! It was GREAT! He's been working a lot of overtime lately and all those hours mixed with the frusturations of having to train someone in a job that can literally mean life or death....can be a little exhausting at times. So a week without work was just what the doctor ordered! We filled the week up quickley with a day at Disneyland, errands, appointments, bible study and a wedding. But our mid-week trip down to San Diego was one of the highlights of our week!

Here's Rylee all geared up for the trip (Jake just slept :) awww...the joys of having a baby). Of course, toys make the car ride more enjoyable, let Rylee introduce to them:

This is Miss Bear, or Boo, or Pooh, or Miss P....or whatever I want to call her that day. :)

I love her. She's my favorite.

Reading a book from Papa and Mimi's house. Mommy and Tante use to read this book too.

After an all-too-normal stop at Starbucks, we hit the road and drove down to Oceanside. Darrin needed some new USMC T-shirts and I'm always up for some good show-our-Marine-pride shopping, so we stopped at H&M Supply for some goodies. Darrin got 2 shirts, Rylee got a USMC stuffed bulldog (they didn't have any cool things for Jake) and I got an awesome diaper bag! It's actually just a normal purse, but it's BIG and has several pockets. So it's a perfect "catch all". They even personalized it with an "Offringa" and "US Marines" nametape. :) I love it.

After shopping, we continued our trip down to Darrin's grandparents. We don't get to see them nearly as much as we would like to and they haven't seen the kids since Jake's "welcome to the world" party in the beginning of the year. So a visit was VERY needed! We played, ate some yummy Italian food and spent the afternoon catching up. We just love them! We always have such a great time with them and sharing stories (both true and made up -- you never know with Grandpa! :)) They're such a joyful couple. We're so blessed to have them in our lives.

This is "Big Red" We have photos of Darrin and Jeremy on Big Red when they were kids. And now, Rylee got to take it for a ride too!

Big Red makes Rylee's hair go crazy! :)

Thanks for the wonderful afternoon!!!

On our way back, we stopped in Fallbrook to visit Kayse and Jon! This was one of the reasons to come down to San Diego! Unforunately, we didn't get any photos with them. :( But it was fun to chat for a bit and Rylee even got to watch Cinderella and eat chocolate chip cookies! :) Kayse and Jon are pregnant with their first child, a baby girl who they have named Emily -- so we got to see the cradle all set up as well as her room! We're SO excited for them and the're beyond excited too. All in all, it was a wonderful, long, tiring, fun-filled day!
