Welcome to our life!!

Welcome friends and family to the crazy, but always fun life that is the Offringa Family! Since our little family is growing quite quickly, we thought a blog would be the easiest way to keep everyone in the loop with what's going on with us! So I guess here's a little rundown of what's been happening lately:

D's work: Going great! He's in a special "hard car" right now where he has a partner (Ryan) and instead of taking normal calls, they get to drive around and look for trouble. Ryan and him get along REALLY well (maybe a little too well.... both are dad's who watch way too much Disney channel and often find themselves singing songs from Hannah Montana or Handy Manny :) ) and both have a great work ethic - so they work hard and end up making lots of "friends" :) --- aka...they take a lot of people to jail. The other great thing about this car is that it's a 4/10 schedule. So they work 4 days a week, 10 hours a day. Having consistent 3 day weekends are WONDERFUL! :) He works really hard for us and I can't say enough how much I love and respect him!

Rylee-bug: She's crazy but SO much fun! What a blessing children are!! She's just about 18 months now and growing like crazy. It's so much fun to watch her little mind work. Everything is new and exciting to her and she finds so much joy and fascination out of the smallest things. The other day we walked down to get the mail and the little 2 minute walk took us an entire hour! She spent about 20-30 minutes playing with the mailboxes and then on the way back to the apartment she had to stop, look at and pick up every leaf, pinecone, pineneedle, little pothole.... everything. It was fun -- for both of us!

Jacob - in the belly -- Well... he's still there, so that's a good thing! :) Jacob is doing really well. He's VERY active, something that is totally different from Rylee when she was in womb. I remember going days without Rylee moving. With JAcob, it seems like I can hardly go 10 minutes without him kicking or tossing and turning. It's fun to feel this amazing miracle inside of me but tiring and a bit uncomfortable at the same time. :) As of right now, I'm 33 weeks (or a little more than 8 months) due Janaury 11th - so we have less than 2 months to go. I can't believe it! This pregnancy has gone by very fast! I guess that happens when you're chasing a toddler around all day long! Life goes fast. :) And it's just getting started. Anywho - we can't wait to meet him and we know everyone else is anxious too! Darrin and I will be hosting a little "meet and greet" party once he's born! We hope you all can make it out to meet our little man!

Housing situation: As many of you know - we've been on the house hunt for (only) a couple months now -- although it feels like a couple years to us! We've put in a couple offers but nothing has really panned out. So we just keep on looking. We know that God has a wonderful plan for our lives and we just need to be patient and trust that it will all work out in His timing. Easier said than done at times... but that's what we're doing right now. We have a GREAT realtor, by the way (my dad! :) ) Give him a call for all your house hunting or selling needs!

Church: We attend Yorba Linda Friends Church and just LOVE it there! Our pastors are amazing and it's so wonderful to grow in the Lord, with eachother, every week. Rylee loves the nursery there -- so much that now when we start to walk in, she lets go of our hand right away and runs to the door and waits for one of the workers to open it up so she can run in and start playing. :) Forget about mom and dad -- we don't even get a look back! We're so blessed that we're at a church that we love, with people we love and growing constantly together. God is so good and faithful and everyday we feel His blessings surrounding us. Our cup surely overflows!
