Scheduling a C-section

Well, I am officially 40 weeks and 4 days and still ... no Jacob. I guess I just make too nice of a home in there for my kids - because they just don't want to come out!

I went to the doctors today and I have not progressed at all. If anything - I actually regressed a little bit. Last week Tuesday, I was at a GOOD 2 cm and 80% effaced and today (Thursday), I'm back down to more of a 1 -2 cm and still just 80% effaced. Ugh. I was hoping for at least a little bit of progress - but nope....nothing.

Because I am past due and I cannot be induced (due to my previous c-section), we are going to be scheduling a c-section. My doctor does not want me going past 41 weeks (which would be Monday) but said that if I really wanted to, we could make the c-section for next week sometime (perferrably earlier in the week) or we can schedule the c-section for this weekend - either Saturday or Sunday morning. Darrin and I have talked and prayed about it and we're leaning towards Saturday (the 16th). This will be easiest for grandparents to watch Rylee without having to take off much time from work (since I'll be in the hospital for a good 4 days) and will allow for Darrin and I to take full advantage of Darrin's time off. I'll need him a lot to help me recover from the surgery and with Rylee so every day is priceless!

Tomorrow I have yet another ultrasound and a non-stress test to make sure that Jacob is still as healthy as can be. I'll be scheduling the c-section then and will find out exactly what time on Saturday. I'll update when I know something more.

I also wanted to let you all know that we are planning a little "meet and greet" open house sometime in mid to late February. This will allow everyone who would like to meet Jacob and celebrate in his birth a chance to pop on by and say hello (and get some good cuddles in!!). I'll be sending out invites with his birth announcement, but just wanted to give you all a heads up right now.

Just wanted to let you all know! Feel free to call or write if you have any questions! And of course - please continue to keep us in your prayers. We're still praying that if it's God's Will, I'll go into labor naturally. But we also put it all in God's hands and trust that He knows what's best for us and for Jacob. So however He decides for Jacob to come out - we praise Him for a healthy pregnancy and pray for a safe delivery. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers as well!
