Mexico Cruise!

After Rylee turned a year, Darrin and I went on a little getaway just the two of us. Once Jake was born, we told ourselves we would do the same thing again after he turned a year. So once January was getting close, Darrin took it upon himself to start researching getaway ideas. We decided on a little cruise to Mexico. Darrin, like the amazing husband he is, planned nearly everything. He went and talked to different travel agents to get the best deals, he talked to our parents to make sure they would be okay with babysitting, he actually booked the vacation (getting us a Suite and VIP status!). He was so sweet.

We also talked to our friends, Ryan and Jen, asked them if they wanted to come along and they decided to join us! We had SUCH a fabulous time. Ryan and Jen were so much fun to hang out with and besides a very loud and creepy pit-stop in Ensenada, the trip was flawless! :) We slept in, hung out, ate, played card games, took naps, ate some more, saw a couple comedy shows and a fun "Game of Love" Newlywed-style game and played Roulette in the casino.....and had some dessert!! Overall, the weekend was so nice and a great time for the 4 of us to just relax and take off that "parent" hat for a couple days. We came back rejuvinated and ready to see our babies!!

At dinner

Ryan and Jen -- such fun vacation buddies!

The last night the 4 of us hung out in Darrin and my room, the boys drank some Rum and Sprite and we all played a fun board game called Hoopla. So much laughter that night!

Here's a picture of the boys having a cigar like "big boys" :) This is just before they got kicked out by the piano player for smoking said cigars. Apparently, there's different rooms for cigerette and cigar smoking. Who knew?

A HUGE thank you goes to all the grandparents who took the kids for 1 night each. Thank you so much for taking great care of our babies whlie we were out having fun! Also, thanks to Jen and Ryan for coming with us. We can't wait to do another getaway with you guys!

  2. Andrea -- I would TOTALLY recommend it!! Just doing something (anything) for a couple days without the kiddo is a wonderful way to reconnect and concentrate on just the two of you!! We used Vacationstogo.com to book the cruise. We got a GREAT deal and the travel agents were so accomodating. We were a little nervous to book things over a website like this, but we had heard other positive experiences from people who know and I'm happy to say that we can testify to their great (and legit) service as well!
