Birthday time!!
May 28 was my birthday and like all parents, I don't really care too much about it. We threw Rylee a party on the 29th (her actual birthday) so my birthday was spent cleaning hte house and getting ready for said party. However, Darrin and my friend Mackenzie convinced me to take a break and we all went out to eat at Don Jose's that night. Despite my "I need to get more stuff done at the house" party pooper attitude, we had a great time!! :) Mack even secretly told the staff it was my birthday, so I got that embarrassing Birthday song treat. :) It was sweet of her (although I kind of wanted to hide under the table). :) My in laws, John and Cindy, took Darrin and I out for our birthdays too. We went out to a new (to us) Mexican place called Tortilla Flats in Mission Viejo. It was GREAT. I love trying new places and this one was definitely a keeper! Not to mention, we were in great company! I always love spending time with John and Cindy. :)

Rylee's 3rd Birthday -- May 29. We threw Rylee a *small* little backyard party with some close family and friends. We got a bounce house for the couple kids that were there and I have to say, it was so much fun!! I wasn't too excited when Darrin mentioned the idea of a bounce house, but after looking into it I found out that it was MUCH more affordable than I originally thought and the kids did havea blast with it (ok ok....and the adults too). Rylee got some awesome gifts from everyone but the BIG gift was from the grandparents.....Rylee's first BIKE! It's a Disney bike with a place for a water bottle and a little doll caddy in the back where she can strap in her dolls! :) She loves it. She even hangs her helmet on her handlebars just like Daddy taught her!! ha ha ha SO CUTE!
Jake is such a little man now!! And if we thought he couldn't look more like his daddy, every day he proves us wrong!! He has a HUGE personality and cracks us up all the time. He LOVES playing with Rylee and, in true sibling fashion, LOVES to take her toys, run away and play with them too. I actually think he gets more enjoyment out of her chasing him than actually playing with her toys. He likes to dance, click his tounge likes he's chewing gum (learned a bad habit from mommy), EAT (avsoluely anything...edible or not) and is talking more! His latest thing is saying "YE-TH-S" (yes with a little lisp). It's so cute. He also tries to say "please" but comes out more like "peeeasssss" and he smiles this cheezy smile. It's so funny.
Darrin dug up an area of our yard and we made a mud pit for the kids. They LOVE playing in it and getting all dirty. Plus, it deters them from digging up our garden. :)This is the best view from our house. It's the kitchen window that looks out onto our backyard. I love standing in the kitchen, making dinner or washing dishes and watching the kids play outside. This is my life, and I love it!
