Today we visited Brenda at the rehab center she's at while recovering from her knee replacement surgery last week. She originally was given a room in not the nicest area of the center, but Jerm and Darrin worked with her case manager and got her moved to front area by the lobby. Her room is MUCH nicer, much larger, with her own TV (with a heardphone plug...which is very helpful when her roomemate is moaning, yelling for her nurse or just being a brat in general) and access to a nice little courtyard where she can sit, walk, read or just enjoy the sun. :) Overall, she's doing really well. She's walking GREAT with a walker and has therapy 6 days a week. Her therapy guys are wonderful and they said she's making great progress. She's had several visitors over the course of the week she's been there and I think that really helps raise her spirits...although, she's certainly ready to go home! She's hoping to leave on Tuesday, so fingers crossed it all works out!
We had a nice little visit today where she got to hang out with the kids and give them her famous "treats" (aka Cheetos). They were very excited. They ran around the courtyard and Brenda got in some good therapy chasing after them. :)
The kids helped Grandmama push her walker down the hall.
Rylee gave her some flowers and insisted she put them in her hair. :)
When Jake wasn't running around or trying to sneak into other people's rooms....he sat and chatted with us. :)
She loves those kiddos and they sure do love her! Get well soon!! :)
