Rylee's Birthday Chain

Happy May!!!  Do you know what that means?  It's Rylee's Birthday Month!!!! Hooray!  ok..well it's mine too, but my birthdays don't count anymore. :)  Rylee is ultra, super-duper excited that it's almost her birthday.  Every.single.morning she asks me "I'm FOUR TODAY?????"  And I have to break it to her that no, she still has a couple more weeks. It's kind of sad and her disappointed look breaks my heart.  Darn kid.

So in order to help her visulize how many days are left until the big day, we made a birthday chain! Together, the three of us took strips of paper and taped them to make a long chain.  I wrote the numbers 1-29 (the 29th is her birthday) on each chain so that everyday we can rip off one more day -- getting closer and closer to the big 4!!!!! :)  *sidenote -- we did this on Tuesday, a day in which the children were cra-azy.  So I busted out my trusty ol' friend, the craft box, and we went to town making things.  So happy that Tuesday was conveniently May 1st, and lended itself perfectly for this craft!  win-win!! *

So proud of her birthday countdown chain!

It's hard to tell here but we wrote out "Rylee's Birthday Countdown" and posted it above the chain.  Rylee insisted on writing her own name (what's up with the line down the middle of the page? I don't know.)  and putting it on pink paper...of course. 

We've been able to rip off 3 chains so far....only 26 more to go! :)
