This past Saturday, the De Jong family had a baby shower for Bj, Sam and baby William. We all had a great time! It's always fun to get together, celebrate a new life and shower the parents with love and gifts! We were able to get a couple of photos of baby William and Jake as well as Sam and I with the kids. These are the kind of photos the kids will pull out when they're getting married and putting together a slideshow for the wedding (although, I'm sure it'll be some kind of crazy futuristic type photo show, and they will undoubtedly laugh at our funny clothes and haircuts and make comments about how "young" we looked. Great........ but nonetheless...). The boys are 9 days apart and both look SO much like their daddies!! Those male genes must be pretty strong! :)
And....we have a HAPPY BOY!! YAY!! Jake is doing SO much better! The medicine sure is working! Jake is practically like a differnt baby. We still have times of crying and what not - but absolutely nothing like before. We're so very happy. Jake is very fun, cooing like crazy and smiles a whole lot! And he's soothing himself to sleep! He now falls asleep with very little to absolutely no crying at all. We lay him down and he'll coo and look around for however long and then he'll just close his eyes and drift off to sleep. So happy that he's not dependant on rocking or eating to sleep! He sleeps about 7 hours at night (10 - 5 or 5:30, then eats and falls back asleep until about 8 or 8:30).... which isn't too bad but also isn't as much as I would like. But I'm hoping that he starts to sleep more and more from here on out. As soon as he is really sleeping through the night (until at least 8am -- just like Rylee) - we'll be able to put the kids in the same room. YAY! Which will make for a very happy mama and daddy -- we can't sleep very well with Jake making noises throughout the night. So hopefully once he's out of our room, we'll be able to get better rest!
Thanks again for all your prayers, advice and support!
