Rylee's Swim Class (round 2)

We started Rylee in another swim class. It's a transitional class between mommy and me and the "big kids" class. I've heard that there's 5 in her class, but so far there has only been 4 kids. We'll see if the 5th one ever shows up. One of the kids is a 3 year old but the other two are all about Rylee's age (one is 22 months and one just turned 2). The teacher, Brett, is WONDERFUL! He's the head of the swimming department and this is the only class he teaches. He concentrates his other time teaching the Jr Lifeguard program and overseeing all the different programs. He really knows what he's doing and that shows in his teaching. I couldn't be happier about it all!

We've only had 2 days so far. The first day she cried the whole time. She did everything she was suppose to do , but just cried while doing it. :) The second day she cried....almost the whole time. :) So it's getting better a little bit each day! I'm continually impressed how well she does and how much I underestimate her. Yea, she cries but she also SWIMS. She kicks her little feet and paddles towards the side of the pool. She grabs rings from the bottom all by herself (with a little push from the teacher) and jumps off the side with no fear (I think this is the only time she stops crying!) . She just does an amazing job! I hate to see her cry but I love to see her being challenged and grow. I can't wait to see her progress by the end of next week!

Doing an "airplane" -- the little floaty boards are under each arm. This is teaching her how to tread water. Once they get about 2-3 feet from the side, Brett takes away the boards, they fall under the water, pop back up and then swim back to the side!
