Here's the latest happenings with Mr. Jacob!
One of the biggest updates with Jake is that we started him on solid foods! After his 4 month check up, we decided that we were going to start solid foods - hoping that it will help with his reflux. We did rice cereal for a couple days and then moved him onto oatmeal. He liked the rice cerealbut he LOVES his oatmeal! He gets it EVERYWHERE and normally I need to either give him a good wiping down afterwards or just stick him in the tub! He's too cute. :) Here's some photos of him eating.

Did you notice something in those photos? His eyes are changing colors!!! He used to have blue eyes and they are now changing to a blue-green hazel. I just noticed it the other day. Can you tell in the pictures below? The first one is when he was about 2 months old and the second one was taken today. Maybe he'll take after his mommy and have green eyes!

Other happenings with Jake is that he's trying to sit up. When he's laying on his back, he tries to use his tummy muscles to pull him into a sitting position. It's not quite happening just yet, but it's fun to watch him as he grows. He can even kind of hold himself up in a sitting position for a couple seconds, before toppling over! Check out the photo below of him sitting all by himself! He also is starting to work on his muscles to crawl. It probably won't happen still for awhile (and I hope the crawling stage passes quickly, I really don't like that stage!) but when he's on his tummy, he pushes up really tall, sticks his chest out and moves his legs back and forth. You can tell the wheels are turning in that little brain of his. All babies develop so differently and at different times, so I can't really tell when he'll actually start crawling, but it's fun to watch him try new things and know that certain stages will be coming soon!
One last fun thing is that Darrin's brother BJ, Samantha and their baby, William, were able to come to Rylee's party. They recently moved up north - so we don't get to see them as often as we used to. It was so fun to visit for a bit and watch the boys together. Jake and William are 9 days apart and couldn't be more identical to their daddies. William is long and lean- just like BJ - and has an inch of length on Jake. William is also SO active!! It's adorable. William moves his arms and legs so fast and practically nonstop. It's the cutest thing I've ever seen. Here's a couple photos of the boys together!
