Bye, Bye Lancer!

Today we sold Darrin's car. It was a bit bittersweet since it was the car he bought when he first got his job with LASD and the first car he actually took care of. When we decided to get out of debt several years ago, I remember us working so hard to pay off the car and feeling SO GOOD when that title arrived in the mail. We (especially Darrin) were so proud. I was a great little car. But with baby #3 on the way, and him having a work car for the time being (and we're hoping for awhile), we decided that it was best to sell it and put the money away in our "bigger car" fund. It actually sold pretty quickly and we ended up selling it to the first person who was interested. She's a nice young girl that goes to Cal State Fullerton. Hooray for a fellow Titan!

The only real downer is that due to my mistake when counting the cash her mom gave us, we ended up eating $100. :( I'm so upset about it. Darrin, because he's sweet and doesn't let things get to him, told me that it's only $100 and although it does stink, it's not something to beat myself up about. My mind obviously feels differently since I'm so sick about it, it's 4:30am and I can't sleep because it's all I can think and dream about. Ugh. I'm just so mad at myself that I didn't do some things differently (like had HER count it out to Darrin. Or even had Darrin meet her at the bank directly so that we could have done the exchange there).

*sigh* Oh well... what's done is done now and I guess no matter how much I beat myself up, nothing will change that fact. So I need to let go of it. At the end of the day, we still sold it for a reasonable price and a young college student got a nice car that will last her for hopefully a good while. Goodbye little Lancer! Be good to your new owner!! :)
